The short version. Your grades, your notes and your Spouse GPA are
private to you. Your spouse does not see them unless you choose to share. We do not
sell your information. We do not show anyone's grades to advertisers or partners —
not individually, not in aggregate, not ever.
Who we are
Spouse Reports is operated by Build Our Kingdom Publishing LLC ("we", "us"), the
owner of spousereports.com.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address and password. Passwords
are stored only as a one-way hash; we cannot read them.
- Your reports — the answers you give about your spouse, any written
notes, and the grades and Spouse GPA calculated from them.
- Your preferences — which categories you agree to be graded on,
whether you share your GPA, reminder frequency, quiet hours and time zone.
- Dates you choose to add — your spouse's birthday or your
anniversary, and only if you switch on the reminder that uses them.
- Affiliate details, if you join the affiliate program — your
contact details, where you have an audience, how you plan to promote us, your
PayPal address, and the tax information on a W-9 (including your Social Security
or Employer Identification Number).
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in sessions — your IP address and browser user agent, so you
stay signed in and we can spot suspicious access.
- Server logs — our web host records requests, including IP
addresses, in standard access logs.
- Affiliate link clicks — if you arrive through someone's referral
link we record the page you landed on, the site you came from, your browser user
agent, and a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the
IP address itself for this.
- Notification subscriptions — if you turn on push notifications,
the address your browser gives us for delivering them.
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking
or profiling service.
Cookies
We use two, and neither is for advertising:
- A session cookie, so you stay signed in. It expires when your
session ends.
- An affiliate referral cookie (
sr_ref), set only if
you arrive through a referral link, so the right affiliate is credited. It lasts
60 days and holds nothing but a reference to that link.
How we use your information
- To run your account and calculate your private grades and Spouse GPA
- To pair you with your spouse and deliver reports between you
- To send the emails and notifications you have asked for
- To take payment and manage your subscription
- To operate the affiliate program, including paying commissions and meeting our
tax reporting obligations
- To keep the service secure and investigate abuse
Who can see your reports
Your results are yours. Your spouse writes reports about you, but
they cannot see your grades, your Spouse GPA or your history unless you switch on
sharing. You can switch it off again at any time.
Administrators cannot override that. An
administrator who is married to a member cannot see their spouse's results through
the admin tools — the same sharing setting applies to them.
If a relationship ends and you later pair with someone new, nothing from the previous
relationship is visible to the new spouse. Those records remain yours and are simply
no longer shown.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your grades, notes or Spouse GPA with advertisers, sponsors or
partners — not identified, not anonymised, not aggregated.
- We do not use the contents of your reports to target you with advertising.
- We do not post anything about you anywhere.
If we ever offer sponsored suggestions — a gift idea before an anniversary, for
example — they will be optional, clearly marked, and chosen by broad category only.
A sponsor would never learn who received anything, and would never see anything from
your reports.
Who we share information with
Only the services needed to run Spouse Reports:
- Square — payment processing. Card details are entered directly
into Square's secure form and never reach our servers. We store only the
references Square gives us and the last four digits of your card.
- PayPal — affiliate commission payouts, if you are an affiliate.
- Our web host — the servers where the site and database run.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which
means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to
protect the safety or rights of a person.
How we protect it
- The whole site is served over HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be recovered by anyone.
- Affiliate taxpayer identification numbers are encrypted at rest,
are never displayed in full again, and are used only to produce your 1099.
- IP addresses for affiliate click tracking are hashed, not stored.
- Administrative access is limited by role, and sensitive actions are logged.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects
your information, we will tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and your reports for as long as your account exists,
because your Spouse GPA is a lifetime record and losing history would defeat the point.
Financial and tax records connected to affiliate payments are kept as long as the law
requires, typically seven years. Affiliate click records are kept for reporting and
fraud prevention.
Your choices and rights
- See your information — most of it is visible in the app. Ask us
for anything that is not.
- Correct it — you can edit your account details at any time.
- Delete your account — email us and we will delete your account and
your reports. Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are the exception, and
we will tell you what those are.
- Control notifications — every type of notification is separately
opt-in, with its own frequency, in your notification settings.
- Control sharing — you decide whether your spouse sees your results,
and can change that whenever you like.
If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA to know what we collect, to
request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not
sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you are in the UK or
EU, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability.
Email us and we will honor them.
Children
Spouse Reports is for adults in a committed relationship. It is not intended for anyone
under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a
child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Where your information is held
Our servers are in the United States. If you use Spouse Reports from elsewhere, your
information is transferred to and processed there.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything
significant we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
